International Trade Ministry of BC, Canada visits Wison Offshore & Marine’s Nantong Yard

Shanghai, China – 8th January, 2014 – The International Market Development Executive Director Klaus Buttner, together with his team, from the International Trade Ministry of BC, Canada visited Wison Offshore & Marine’s Nantong Yard today. The purpose for this visit is to learn about Wison Offshore & Marine’s engineering and fabrication capabilities in floating natural gas liquefaction platforms and offshore oil development platforms, as well as to discuss  Wison Offshore & Marine’s business development plans in participating in multiple natural gas export projects in Canada, especially in BC. This visit strengthened BC government’s confidence in Wison Offshore & Marine’s advanced technology, fabrication and delivery capabilities in the area of natural gas processing and treatment, and marked the beginning of Wison Offshore & Marine’s entry into the North American LNG market. Wison Offshore & Marine vice president and yard general manager An Wenxin as well as sales representative in Canada Jonathan Chang received the delegation.

During the meeting, An Wenxin expressed warm welcome towards the delegation. He gave an overview of Wison Offshore & Marine, the construction history and development of Nantong and Zhoushan Yards, Wison Offshore & Marine’s fabrication capabilities and technology, the on-going world’s first to operation FLRSU project, and said that the experience accumulated in this project will be applied to the delivery of future projects. The delegation gave a brief introduction for the plans and measures to be taken in BC in order to promote LNG development. After the meeting, the delegation visited Wison Nantong Yard.

BC Canada places great emphasis on the export of natural gas to Asia and encourages relevant companies to participate the development and investment of these projects, while the International Trade Ministry of BC is devoted to the development of international trade activities in BC. BC wishes to build the energy and oil & gas industry into a pillar industry which will bring more jobs. Currently, the construction of ports, roads and electrical infrastructure are underway in the northern coastal cities of Kitimat and Prince Rupert by the government’s firm support so that the fabrication and export in energy sector can be well facilitated.
